I only fish for carp in tidal rivers in Maryland waters from a boat. I rarely see forum pages regarding this type of fishing. Are there others that to do this type of carp fishing? If there are people interested, I would share my techiques and welcome other information. I just joined Carp USA last week.

The chub snooper 12' 3lb rod is a beauty. Flings the heaviest of feeders 80yards with ease. Great balance with a 10000 series reel attached. Awesome playability. Plenty of power to coerce bigger fish out of snags but still flexible enough to not feel as if you'll pull a hook when it decides to run. Only downfall is the rings are so light that you must transport rods either unstrung or with absolutely no pressure on the line. If you try to hook an eyelet frame and crank down the slack and toss then on a roof rack the sic guide will crack, chip, or crumble. Maybe not an issue with mono or Dacron but certainly a no no with braid. At about $70 a pop they are fantastic and nice and not to pretty to draw wandering eyes. |
