Strawberry Corn 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago

After reading several posts on bait flavoring,I decided to try experimenting a bit.Normally I fish corn in its natural, raw, uncooked state. This time I added about a tablespoon of strawberry gelatin mix(jello brand or equv.)while boiling corn in water for a few minutes. On the water, tried a few baits, and did'nt get any takes. After switching to the strawberry corn,I had a 15lb'er on in only a matter of minutes!I may have to rethink the whole flavoring thing...

I too use pretty much the exact same recipe but i also add about half a tbsp. of salt (when boiling a full pot of corn)and i use the whole pack of jello. I usually put about 3 pieces on a short hair with a running rig. Before I fish I throw about 15 handfulls of corn in the general area of where i plan to put my lines (15 at each pole) I also throw about 3 handfulls of mini tigernuts, and 3 handfulls of frenzied hemp seed to each spot. I am able to simply throw them because i live in the netherlands and i fish mostly small canals. I caught 6 carp all 10-15 pounds within about 3 hours with this method. I just came up with this combination and plan to use it many more times. best of luck and tight lines

hey carp420. ya i just moved here about a year ago, lovin it! 420! I never fished for carp before i got here, I fished bass in california where i lived before. Once i came here I caught my first carp and I was addicted right away. I have used all kinds of baits and corn by far has been the most consistent for me. I usually throw out other baits as freebies but almost always put corn on my hair. nice talkin i'll be checkin in on this site often hope to here from you.
