Met up with a friend last night at Weatherford lake, we were there maybe 30 minutes before Chris landed the first fish of the night, maybe another 45 minutes later he landed his second common, weighed in around 8 or 9 lbs., Shortly after that it was my turn to haul in a few carpies.
At around 1 am or so my xtra Ultra Light doubled over and the reel started screaming, I jumped up and tightened the drag and the epic battle was on, I was not in the battle very long when I noticed I was not gaining any ground on the fish at all,I looked at my reel and realized drag was peeling off and it was not clicking, guess it had broke on the previous fish, I tightened the drag a little more and continued the fight, I was in the fight about 20 minutes before I finally saw the fish break the surface, to my amazement I saw that it was a mirror, I turned to chris and said DUDE IT,S A MIRROR, it quickly went back down and headed to open water and ended up fighting it for another 30 minutes or so, keep in my I am using 4 lb. test line LOL.
I finally got it to the net and chris lifted it out of the water and into the light and we both smiled when we seen that it was a fully scaled mirror in perfect condition. We did not weight it but I am guessing it weighed in around 12 or 13 lbs.
