Any fishers out there having trouble with your boilie getting tangled? If so, I may have a method of solving this problem.

I find there are many factors that contribute to tangled hooklinks. The type of hooklink material, length of hooklink, type of rig, water currents, etc. and ajustments must be made if tangles are an issue.
If you have a soulution to this problem, I would love to hear about it!

Truth be told, the reason I ask this is that there is a product about to be launched in England called the Veracast by Godman's Angling. Its a product that my father helped develop with Mr. Godman the creator.
Basically, It employs specially polymers which are designed to dissolve harmlessly once the bait and hook sink beneath the surface of the water. It prevents the bait and boilie from getting tangled when casting.

Bare in mind the product is done and ready but is just in the process of finalizing the website to deal with inquiries and sales.

When all is ready would be happy to send you a free sample to try out and your feedback would be great!

In the Uk we use a lot of PVA stocking mesh in which we place cumbled boilies or trout pellet feed. The PVA mesh melts in water so leaving the bait to attract the carp.

The hook lentgh has been pulled through the PVA stocking meaning the hook is buried in the bag with only the boilies left outside the bag unable to tangle with anything.

This is true. PVA stockings have been used in England for many years and with many uses/ways. The guy who came up with Versacast used this technique too but found that when the bait exploded from the bag that the hook and hair-rig and bait were thrown to were you didnt wanted it.
Versacast is a single bait option method were after cast you can catapult your bait out to it , not every body go's with the theory of lots of bait catches fish.
Theres actually a video on Youtube that shows a chod rig out with pva stocking and watches it explode and tangle over main line - to their surprise

Sorry Jmin44 I cant agree with you yes I know the PVA can contract to the point where it can explode. But really it just does not happen that much. A rig with a long soft braided hair if not locked in place with some kind of PVA bag or nuggets will always tangle no matter what you do. So the PVA has got to be a far better bet.
Re The chod rig if it is a true chod rig it should be made with a stiff bristle filiment mono or Flouro this set up will never need any PVA bags to wotk properly, PVA nugget maybe but not PVA stocking bags. No wonder it all went wrong the guy obviously does not understand what a chod rig is designed to do.
Who is saying lots of bait catches fish ? PVA stocking bags can be as small as 1/2" diameter thats about the same size as am acorn of bait thats not lots ?.

This is a partially finished chod rig you can see the stiff mono hook lenght when a boilie is placed on the hair the stiff mono will not allow tangles

Long range helicopter rig with PVA stocking Chum mix mounted up the leader

This is a small size 10 hoo with a 3/8" 10mm boilie with a small PVA mesh bag mounted between the hook and the boilie true small bait winter style fishing

smartcarper...thank you for all this interesting information. I mentioned earlier that I myself aren't a true carp fishermen and thus am not in a position to argue with someone as knowledgeable as yourself. What I stated early was simply information I had been told by an experienced carp fishermen that had encountered the problem, and who had come up with an idea that will prevent it every time in an easy an convenient manner.

Just curious, what is your take on the Versacast product? Does it have merit?
