Which reel does everyone prefer? Baitcast or spinning reels? Baitclicker or No Baitclicker?

I personally use baitcast reels exclusively. My Garcia 6500 is still my all time favorite.I think there is more sensitivity, much needed spool capacity and no line twist.I do like, and use the baitclicker given the right conditions.Does not work well in stronger currents imo.

Hi Carphunter420,
what do you mean by baitclicker? Is the kind of reel that has 2 clutches like a shimano bait runner as an example?

When the reel is in "freespool" and the "baitclicker" is engaged,a clicking noise is emitted upon a fish running with the bait.I've always called it this.I suppose others may call it something else...

I can confirm it is a 'Clicker', just got out a box for an old Penn reel I had, and checked the booklet. The exploded diagram had Click button and Click lever.

You learn something everyday!

I do not care for the baitcaster reels w/clicker do to the fact you can never set the drag loose enough , hence fish detects the resistance, I prefer spinning reels w/ bait feeder capability.

I've used baitcasters ever since my bass fishing days...I guess I'm stuck in the rutt but I find my baitcasters much more reliable and without the line twist often assosiated with spinning reels. The baitclicker feature on the garcia 6500cb is very effortless to move and doesnt seem to be a problem. But I am considering the move to full fledged carp rods and reels...if I could just bring myself to retire my current gear...lol...just wanted some opinions. Thanks!
