Hello castout and welcome,
We currently dont have an introduction section. May be soon to come though. We encourage members to jump right in posting their questions or comments.

As for your forum link, as long as it isnt a "USA carp specific" forum it would be fine. Would love to see some of your pics.

Carp fishing in the US has long time been looked down upon and carp were viewed as a "trash fish" or a nuisance to many uneducated fisherman. As time goes on, that myth is being alieviated and many fisherman are now targeting these carp for the challenge and shear power of these magnificent creatures.

In the US, large carp are in almost every body of water, and the need to travel long distances to find outstanding fishing is a thing of the past.

Before the introduction of the hair rig, most fisherman relied on corn threaded directly on the hook, or used a soft doughbait kneaded around a hook. usually with limited results, and would catch only the smaller inexperienced fish.

As the carp become increasingly wary of these types of rigs, the American carp fisherman has adopted alot of the techniques used in the UK and Europe with great results.

As this sport evolves, the modern US carp angler is now very technical. Covering all the angles from using various styles of rigs, equipment, baits and techniques to consistantly catch more and bigger fish.

Be it large carp in the UK or large carp in the US, they are very clever and wary creatures and we are always looking fo new ways to outsmart them.

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for letting me know about my link,as my link is not a carp link in the us it should be ok then,castaline.forumcircle.com/portal.php this is my site only small but getting bigger,so if you guys want to see a forum UK style then take a look it is free and guests can browse around as much as they like.

Carp fishing is a big game in the uk and the currant record stands at 69lb or there about with carp of 40lb plus being caught often,as i have said i don't always target carp but it makes a change to fishing for Tench,Bream ect ect and the fight is just the best you can get, this is a 14lb common carp i caught at a small venue....

This one is bigger at 20lb a mirror carp....

But my wife beat me AGAIN with this 22lb mirror carp.....
